Rapid Remote Upgrade Methodology (RRUM)
Why Upgrade?
Even if significant mainstream maintenance is available for mySAP ERP predecessors, every SAP customer should start considering an upgrade strategy. An upgrade project not only brings efficiency to existing processes but presents exciting opportunities to consider new components from mySAP ERP business suite and significant technical advancements with new technologies.

Despite all the benefits, an SAP upgrade project can be intimidating due to limited in-house knowledge, lack of insight to estimate time and resource requirements and the resource intensive nature of upgrades. An upgrade project can meet all those expectations when it is done correctly. Done poorly, with missed steps and ill planning, it can be unnecessarily costly and far away from expected returns.

Rapid Remote Upgrade Methodology

What is RRUM?
RRUM is a comprehensive upgrade methodology that addresses the challenges posed by emerging SAP technologies and new functionality requirements while tackling the common issues of SAP upgrade projects. By integrating the upgrade components of Intelligroup’s proprietary templates into SAP Solution Manager, RRUM facilitates tailoring of offerings to cater to individual customer needs.

How can RRUM help?
Intelligroup’s RRUM provides its customers with a robust upgrade methodology to confidently approach an upgrade project. RRUM uses a step-by-step approach to avoid missing critical steps in an upgrade project and to prevent duplicate effort. RRUM estimates time, cost and resource requirements early in the project eliminating any guess work in the planning stage. With an extensive pool of subject matter experts (SME’s) with in-depth knowledge and expertise in mySAP ERP, Intelligroup can help its customers reap maximum return on investment in an upgrade project.

What is the scope of RRUM?

What does RRUM offer?

Rapid

Accelerators:

RRUM Roadmap Template: This template demystifies the different steps involved in an upgrade and provides detailed information to educate the customer as they navigate the roadmap.

Upgrade Knowledge Base: Built on first-hand experience gained from other upgrade projects, this repository contains white papers, tips and tricks and knowledge documents.

Change Management: With iTutors for transactions that were changed, we not only assist in identifying the affected screens but go one step further by proving iTutors. This cuts down significantly in change management and preparing training materials.

Templates: Pre-defined validation templates built and linked to appropriate steps in the roadmap assures validation protocols are adhered to as the project moves along the roadmap.

Upgrade SME’s: By having a focused group of upgrade SME’s, we bring past experiences, and do’s and don’ts learned from other upgrade project. This helps avoid otherwise unknown pitfalls which can be very expensive and time consuming.

Tools:
Uptimizer: Intelligroup’s proprietary Uptimizer tool analyses, the to-be upgraded system and provides insight on the amount of effort involved. This analysis, along with some SAP standard reports, will eliminate guess work on resource and time requirements for an upgrade project in the planning stage.

Technical Object Tracking: Built within Solution Manager, it consolidates standard and custom collision objects in one view. It also prioritizes the tasks and facilitates monitoring the progress of each object.

Remote

Service Offerings:
Hosting Services: By extending our hosting service to upgrade projects, we free our customers from budgeting for additional hardware infrastructure (for mock upgrades or system switch) and Basis/Infrastructure resources that are typically required for an upgrade project.

Right Shoring: Having pioneered the right-shoring model, Intelligroup can provide round the clock upgrade support to shrink the upgrade timeline and do a rapid upgrade.
