dimensions of system lifecycle management. SPEED service
focuses on benchmarking, sizing, analyzing, measuring
and controlling areas of database administration, application
management and development support.
Understanding our customers’
need for reducing performance optimization costs, Intelligroup
has introduced SPEED service that employs qualified
and trained professionals who use our proprietary tools
to automate and generate performance based reports accurately.
These reports are analyzed and a performance process
roadmap is developed to manage and deploy optimization
improvements effectively. The service helps to obtain
a quick and effective solution and can be combined with
quality process for standardization across the organization.
Implementation Methodology
A defined and proven cycle that can perform
accurate analysis and feeds back into the process for
sustained performance improvement is the essence in
the SPEED service. It works on DMAIC methodology. The
activities that are performed using this methodology
are described below:
D: Define
In this phase, end user interviews are conducted
to identify the system critical parameters that consume
numerous SAP resources. Critical transactions, reports,
queries, batch jobs or other system variables use a
lot of table space, disk utilization etc. This defines
the scope for assessment.
M: Measure
Based on the scope identified earlier, thresholds
are defined for various parameters and measurements
are taken. The measurements are logged in the SPEED
database for future reference.
A: Analyze
Based on the defined scope and threshold values,
analysis is performed using SPEED. The reports generated
are analyzed by experts and used to identify areas for
performance improvements. Action items are made based
on the reports for the team to work on.
I: Improve
The action items form the boosters in respective
areas. System boosters, ABAP boosters, SQL boosters
and application boosters are identified that are applied
by the team. Once the boosters are applied, testing
is performed and the objects are then marked for productive
use. Post-application measurements are again taken and
the ROI is calculated in terms of improvement to the
various parameters.
C: Control
Various control parameters are set to effective
management of measurement, analysis and improvement.
The results are feedback into the process for continuous
improvement.
