Inc. a global provider of strategic
outsourcing services and an IT partner
to some of the world’s largest
companies today announced the completion
of a Data Archiving Project at Armstrong
World Industries, a global leader
in design and manufacturing of floors,
ceilings and cabinets. Using Intelligroup’s
proprietary service, ArchivePacTM,
Intelligroup developed and implemented
a strategy to archive 430 GB of space
from the production environment and
reduce the monthly data base growth
by over 30% resulting in improved
performance of SAP transactions.
Intelligroup was
selected to develop and implement
an archiving strategy based on its
in-depth knowledge of the clients’
business processes and the ability
to provide an accelerator to complete
the project in less than six months.
Intelligroup’s ArchivePacTM
and onsite/offshore delivery model
allowed Intelligroup to meet aggressive
timelines and provide a cost-effective
deployment of this strategy.
At the onset of the
project, the total data base size
was approximately 2.1 TB with an average
monthly growth of 34 GB. The goal
of the project was to slow down the
average monthly growth and reduce
the costs of maintaining hardware
for disk and storage devices while
improving overall performance. Intelligroup,
with its step-by-step best practice
approach, provided this comprehensive
archiving strategy and solution.
